We would like to start with the spelling. Usually you spell magic 'MAGIC'. But there are a few of us who will actually spell it 'MAGICK', so why the 'K'? Well Aleister Crowley wanted to make a distinction between stage magic and actual magick so he added the 'k' on the end. The 'k' also links with the Egyptian word for power and energy KHU, so we also have the k for that purpose as well, it also makes it geometrically sound having three and three 'MAG' 'ICK' so you have six. Three is a very powerful number in mysticism.
Well magick itself one of the best definitions we personally like to use is consciously creating change through energy and through the use of 'will'. So basically willing energy to do something. Magick can be as simple as affirmations when you repeat something positive to yourself , it can be a little more complex like rituals and spell craft and Herbalism. Everything in daily life can be magick and should be for those that practise.
The way the magick works is basically if you think of it from a scientific view point for those who are on more of the narrow minded side, energy is not created or destroyed, it has to go somewhere and probably the number one lesson we here will teach anyone who wants to be a student or who wants to practise magick. The number one rule to accomplish anything by magickal means is 'ALL ENERGY FOLLOWS THOUGHT' If you put your mind there energy will follow it. PERIOD! That is the basis for all forms of magick whether it be basic affirmation, prayer, spell casting, healing what ever the case may be focus on it and it will happen. Now of course there are ways to enhance it and make that energy resonate more which is the next point we am getting into.
When you use magick you are using subtle influences, subtle energies that surround these basically the sub atomic particles, the neutrons, protons things like that, the electrons, you are causing subtle changes and shifts which will bring forth change, its kind of like the whole concept of the butterfly effect, where a butterfly will beat its wings and cause hurricanes and tornadoes, storms etc thousands of miles away. Or if you drop a stone in a pond it will ripple out. These domino like effects is how magick works, its very subtle shifts of changes that are bought about by your conscious mental focus that will bring forth these changes. Everything is vibrating so you are going against the flow of vibration when you are trying to create change so you have resistance so that's why a lot of spells will have extra stuff to enhance whatever that spell is for because the more you have the more momentum you build up the more energy can go towards the focus that you have.
